<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother and Nona, Albina Maria (Rijavec) Cerne on July 30, 2016 at Bobby's Hospice, after a four month long Courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Nova Gorcia, Slovenia, she was a daughter of the late Leopold and Stefanija (Komel) Rijavec. <br> <br>Albina worked as a Nurses Assistant for over 30 years beginning her career at the East Saint John (T.B) Hospital, the D.V.A.,and the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. <br> <br>Albina was predeceased by husband Zorko Joseph Cerne (1999). <br> <br>She is survived by three daughters, Silvana (Ron) Beattie, Maida (Jack) Hull, both of Saint John and Carmen (Mark) Mowry, of Rothesay; her four grandchildren, Stephanie Beattie, of Edmonton ,Alberta, Samantha Mowry,of Saint John, N.B. Jonathan Mowry, and Laura Mowry, both of Rothesay, N.B. She is also survived by three sisters, Cvetka (Edi) Gruden, Dorcia (Dusan) Pregely, and Milojka Mihely;one brother Lojze (Irma) Rijavec, as well as several nieces and nephews all of Slovenia. <br> <br>Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John,N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 2, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday August 3, 2016 from Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center following the interment. <br>Donations to Bobby's Hospice or the Charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
