<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dorothy Matilda Tippett which occurred on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Dorothy was born July 4, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Russell and Sarah (Walker) Scott. She was an Active member of the Rebekah Lodge, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a faithful member of Main Street Baptist Church. Dorothy will be forever remembered by sons Benjamin Tippett of Saint John, NB, Stanley “Ned’ (Leah) Tippett of Bristol, NB, Fred (Linda) Tippett of Winnipeg, MB, Gordon Tippett of Japan; daughters Luann (Gene) McCulley of Saint John, NB and Maggie (Carl Anderson) Tippett-Anderson of Saint John, NB; brothers Ivan (Joyce) Smith of Newtown, NB, Edgar (Eddie) Smith Kingston, ON; Sisters Annie Ricker of Saint John, NB; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy helped raise and mentor her two daughter’s children including Cyndi Scott. Besides her parents Dorothy was predeceased by husband B.George Tippett, son George Tippett, brothers Everett Scott and Cecil Smith and grandson Stephen Tippett. <br><br>Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Thursday January 12, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home on Friday January 13, 2017 at 10:30am. Interment will take place at Titusville Cemetery in the Spring. Donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society. www.castlefh.com<br></div>
