<div itemprop="description">JAMES, Eleanor Jean - On Tuesday, September 17, 2013, Eleanor Jean James passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born April 5, 1942, in West Saint John, she was the oldest child of Harry and Marjorie (Merrill) Campbell. A devoted wife and mother, Eleanor worked as a caregiver for young and old, both in Saint John and at Utopia, her home for 25 years. She was a gifted knitter and talented crafter, helping her late husband, Doug, to produce extraordinary pieces. <br /> <br />Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Julie (Brian) Carleton; son Brian (Gloria) Hargrove, all of Saint John; Allan Hargrove of Calgary, AB and Linda (Wayne)Clarke of New York state. She is also survived by her special grandson, Allan Cantwell (Sarah) of Shreveport, LA, and waS beloved &quot;El-na&quot; to their girls,Colbi Grace and Pacey. She is also survived by grandchildren Angela, Jennifer (Craig Josselyn) and Daniel Carleton; Jeffrey Hargrove; Merrill (Calyie) Martin; Christina (Jill) Oakley; BJ &amp; Kyle Hargrove, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and honorary&quot; grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister,Marilyn (Colin) McNichol,two special nieces, Judy Armstrong and Terri Lynn McNichol, and her brother Allan (Buddy) (Joan) Campbell, all of West Saint John. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, S. Douglas James,and a grandson, David Hargrove. <br /> <br />Resting at Castle Funeral Home, &ldquo;Fallsview Chapel&rdquo;, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Castle &ldquo;Fallsview&rdquo; Chapel. Interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a reception held at the Fallsview Reception Center following interment.
