<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sorrow the family announces the death of Ivan Joseph Richard which occurred on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Ivan was born on January 5, 1933 and was the son of the late Anthony Richard and Auralie (Vautour) Richard. <br> <br>Ivan worked for Canadian Pacific Railway for 42 years before retirement. He was an avid bowler, sports fan of the Montreal Canadians, and loved to laugh and make his friends laugh. <br> <br>He is survived by his son; Gary Anthony Richard and his wife Susan of Brampton, ON, brother; Emery Richard and his wife Rita of Saint John, NB, sister; Bridgette Peters and her husband Steeve of Ontario; brother-in-law; Harry Adams; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and the mother of his son, Germaine Nicolle. Ivan was predeceased by an infant daughter; Leigh-Ann, brother; Vincent Richard, and sister Viola Adams. <br> <br>Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 24, 2016 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm & 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A Reception will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center following the Interment.
