<div itemprop="description">Lovingly surrounded by family, James (Jim) Francis McAlduff, husband of Mary McAlduff (MacDonald), passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice, after a 14 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on May 20th 1948, he was son of the late J .Merrill McAlduff and Mary (Tierney) McAlduff. <br> <br>In addition to his wife of 38 years, Jim is survived by; his sons Daniel of Vancouver B.C., David and his wife Trinda (Fanjoy) of Rothesay. Also, survived by his sisters Judy MacFadyen, Bea (Rick) Hartinger of Charlottetown, Susanne Motherwell (Bob) of Perth, Australia, brothers Bob (Judy) of Charlottetown, Dave (Janice), of Clyde River PEI, special aunt and uncle Frances and Alva McAlduff of Alberton, PEI, and sister in law Louise MacDonald of Trenton, ON. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by his dearest friends Tommy James (Vivian), Bobby Harley (Lorraine) and his extended O’Reilly family, dear aunt Dorothy, Mary (Deborah), Julia (Mike), Maureen, Mike (Wendy), Paddy (Carolyn), Tommy (Eloise), and Mark. <br> <br>Predeceased by his brother Alan and his wife Cynthia McAlduff, his mother and father in law Daniel and Frances (O’Reilly) MacDonald, and brother in law Elmer MacFadyen. <br> <br>Jim graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1971. For over 42 years he was employed by Canada Revenue Agency and retired in March of 2015. Jim was passionate about his work and was well respected by his colleagues and clients alike. <br> <br>Jim loved a good project. He enjoyed his “yardwork”, going “down cellar” with his many power tools and he always made himself available for friends, family and neighbors to help with anything they needed. Jim looked forward to his weekly outings with the Tuesday evening pool group and his love of travel was enjoyed with the love of his life Mary. <br> <br>Jim so appreciated the love and unending support and care he received from his many friends, family and Extra Mural Nurse Eileen during his lengthy illness. <br> <br>Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00pm & 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church on, Thursday November 10 at 12:00 noon. Interment will take place following the service at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception will be at Castle Falls View reception center following interment.
