<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of John Gerard VanZuylen which occurred on Sunday October 2, 2016 at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS. Born March 29, 1960 he was the son of the late Hank and Helena (Hendrickson) VanZuylen. John loved Wendy and his family very much, his girls and grandchildren were his world. John had a successful career working for CFM for 31 years. He always enjoyed a good game of pick-up hockey. Wendy and John loved to go to the cottage in Miramichi and Cumberland Bay, once he was there he never wanted to leave. John will be sadly missed by partner Wendy Pilmer; daughters Michelle (Mark) Comeau of Edmonton, AB, Katharyn (Jacob) Rogers of Saint John, NB; step-sons Adam (Vanessa) Pilmer, Joe (Sonja Verner) Pilmer both of Saint John, NB; sisters Linda (Rheal) VanZuylen of Memramcook, NB, Anne Marie (Denis) VanZuylen of Cocagne, NB, Rita VanZuylen of Moncton, NB; nephew Jason (Dawn) VanZuylen; grandsons Cameron, Landen, Sonny; Aunt and Uncle Hank (Annie) Hendrickson of Dorchester, NB. <br> <br> <br>Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 4, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00pm & 7:00 – 9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at 12:00noon. Donations in John’s memory can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the Charity of one’s choice. <br></div>
