<div itemprop="description">Meating, Kenneth &ndash; Kenneth A. Meating passed away suddenly on Thursday September 10, 2015. Born June 12, 1937 he was the son of the late Horace and Elsie (Ross) Meating. Kenneth worked for 36 years as a steel foreman with the Saint John Shipbuilding Ltd., and was a long standing member and lay minister of St. Georges Anglican Church. Kenny will be sadly missed by his loving wife Joan (Nice)(Bradley) Meating, of Saint John, N.B ; son Jim (Shelly) Burke of Grand Bay, NB; daughter Roberta Martin (Derek Trecartin) of Saint John, NB; son Scott (Kim) Bradley of St. George; son Stephen (Donna) Bradley of Musquash; sisters Eleanor Richard of Saint John, NB; Gladys (Bob) Murphy of Nashwawksis, NB; and brother Horace Meating of Saint John and several close nieces and nephews. He had 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Besides his parents Kenny was predeceased by his first wife Theresa (Jean); sister Elsie Philips and daughter Ann Marie Burke. <br /> <br />Kenny was an avid outdoorsman, ardent fisherman, a great storyteller, an original member of the Shimpokai Judo Club, dart player, and a great jokester along with being a loving and caring husband, father, uncle, grampy and friend to all who crossed his path. <br /> <br />Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Monday September 14, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will take place at Carleton Kirk United Church on Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 11:00 am . A reception will follow the funeral service. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
