<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness the family of Mrs. Mary Kathryn Fitzgerald announce her passing at the age of 97, following a brief illness on August 20, 2014 with her family by her side at the Carleton-Kirk Nursing Home. Born in Lakeville NB on April 7, 1917 she was a daughter of the late James and Rose (Mulheron) Dugan. Mary worked as a Paediatric nurse for many years at St Joseph's Hospital. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, making a difference in the lives of all she met. <br /><br />Mary is survived by three sons James &ldquo;Jim&rdquo; Douglas (Melissa) of Hampton, Joseph &ldquo;Joe&rdquo; Murray (Anne) of Hampton and Richard &ldquo;Dick&rdquo; Michael of Fredericton; one daughter Rosemary Oakley (William &ldquo;Bill&rdquo;) of Dartmouth NS; seven grandchildren Jeffery, Meghan, Melanie, Natalie and Mathew Fitzgerald, Ryan and Daniel Oakley; one great-grandson Maxwell James Fitzgerald. As well as several nieces and nephews. <br /><br />Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Murray Fitzgerald; two brothers Henry and Leo Dugan; as well as two sisters Teresa and Rita Gouthreau.<br /><br />To Honor Mrs. Fitzgerald&rsquo;s wishes cremation will take place and visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 6-9pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 12 Noon. Donations made to the Carleton-Kirk Elevator Fund or to the charity of donor&rsquo;s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
