<div itemprop="description">Richard “Dick” Eugene Phillips - It is with heavy hearts the family of Richard “Dick” Eugene Phillips, loving husband of Joyce (Hamilton) Phillips, announces his passing on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born May 21, 1937 in Saint John, NB. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Patti Quinlan, twin infant great grandsons, six brothers and three sisters. <br> <br>Dick, affectionately known as “Chic,” had worked for years in the construction industry and at the Saint John Dry Dock until his retirement. He was an avid reader and enjoyed TV sports, especially hockey. He loved being a hockey grampie, enjoying all his grandchildren. He was very proud of their scholastic and athletic accomplishments. Dick and Joyce enjoyed numerous summers at Mactaquac with their 5th wheel, simply enjoying nature. <br> <br>In addition to his wife of 60 years, Joyce, he is survived by his brother; Don (Edith) Philips; 4 sons Bruce (Kathy) of Riverview, Mark (Jan) of Grand Bay – Westfield, Douglas of Germany, Brian (Shelley) of Saskatchewan; 12 grandchildren Stephen Quinlan (Christina), Karen Sutherland (Gord), Michelle LeBlanc (Guiaume), Richard Phillips, Sam Phillips, Brendan Phillips, Nick Phillips, Johnathan Phillips, Jamie Atkins (Daniel), Crystal Gray (Jordan), Sebastian and Annalena Phillips and 4 great-grandchildren. <br> <br>By request of the family there will be no visitation and a private burial service Old Cedar Hill Cemetery on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon. A reception to follow at Assumption Centre at 721 Chapel Street, West Saint John for family and friends. Remembrances in memory of Dick may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice. <br> <br>Memories how they linger forever in our hearts. <br></div>
